Nxt crypto-currency platform shares many similarities with the Linux operating system, particularly in its support of the open-source ethos. The Nxt core code was written in Java by the developer 'BCNext', with the Nxt system going live on November 2013, utilising its own native blockchain separate from Bitcoin.

It's a '2nd gen' crypto-currency and platform, which means that in addition to the basic features of '1st generation' systems such as Bitcoin,  Nxt has been designed to be a modular system with a group of core features that can be used as a foundation for 3rd party projects. Think of it more of a platform, than a currency.

The current Nxt core features are:

Just came up with an interesting idea. If just-dice had an API where you can tap into the gambling functions of the site you would be able to build applications on top of the existing system leveraging just-dice's bank roll.

Say if you had a website selling widgets, and you had a feature where every order made on the site the customer has a chance of winning the item for free. If the item cost $100, and once the order is paid, the site sends $1 to just-dice and rolls the dice at 100x payout. If it wins, the customer gets notified and gets the item for free. Anyone seen something like this implemented yet? Maybe we should build something like this.

What's a better way to enjoy Sunday than to have awesome food at the Grub Street Food Festival and enjoy a game of Joust.

What is Johann Sebastian Joust? Joust is a no-graphics, digitally-enabled playground game for 2 to 7 players, designed for motion controllers such as the PlayStation Move. The goal is to be the last player remaining. When the music — selections from J.S. Bach's ‌"Brandenburg Concertos" — plays in slow-motion, the controllers are extremely sensitive to movement. When the music speeds up, this threshold becomes less strict, giving the players a small window to dash at their opponents. If your controller is ever moved beyond the allowable threshold, you're out! Try to jostle your opponents' controllers while protecting your own.

Let's get together and we'll demo Drupal Commerce_POS + Bitcoin. We'll be going over Drupal Commerce_POS and how to accept Bitcoins in your commerce sites! This is for those that missed the talk earlier this month at the Drupal Meetup. It's going to be a 30-45 minute presentation with a Q&A at the end. A big thanks goes to the company: Left Click Advanced for making this module possible! We'll try our best to get a functional Drupal POS system up and running and we should have a Bitcoin payment gateway setup by then! Feel free to contact us if you want to have something or want to present something.
